jack-o-lanterns

This is the first year that we've bought pumpkins at halloween. We don't really do anything for halloween. For the past two years we worked at the Fall Festival thing at FBC Coushatta, and that was always fun, especially the penny throw for the little kiddos! Well, this year I begged Mike to buy two pumpkins so that we could carve them and make jack-o-lanterns. We had never done this together and I thought we should at least do it once. So, Mike came home from Wal-Mart the other day, after buying a new tire for his car, with two big 'ol pumpkins! We got out the knives and printed patterns for us to use. They turned out great!!! We had the best time, as you can tell from the pictures...

laughter is good for the soul

Life is way too much fun for the McGraths...as you can easily see from the pictures below.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I was rummaging through some pictures of when my mom and dad made a trip over to pick up some furniture. They brought along lots of ski clothes and accessories for us to try on. We're going skiing at Christmas - YAY!!! Since Mike has never been skiing before, my parents are attempting to outfit him in some of our ski clothes. Well, my family is a little on the small in stature side, and Mike is a little less vertically challenged than everyone in my family, so to see him try on clothes that were made for short people - priceless and hilarious! We were able to get a couple of really good, warm things for the trip. Since our time trying on clothes was rather eventful, we goofed off with it and decided to take some pics. It was especially funny trying on warm, winter clothes when the temperature outside was about 90 degrees. Oh the joys of living in the south! Enjoy the pics!

flat tires and family life

Saturday morning Mike decided that we were due for a trip home. I enjoy trips home, they make me smile, but they always make me want to stay longer! So, we packed up like we were in a race and made our way to the boot.

October brings about some great things in our life - birthdays and football, both of which we thoroughly enjoy! Our quick trip home involved both of these enjoyments. NSU played some unknown team from Arkansas, whom they were supposed to easily whoop.

Too bad it didn't happen that way. Photobucket - Video and Image HostingIt was a pretty pitiful display of athleticism on NSU's part. Thumbs up to the unknown Arkansas team, even though they didn't pull out a victory. At least we were able to come in for a home game. We also celebrated Mike's birthday (10/11), Mike's dad's birthday (10/1), and my mom's birthday (10/22). My dad and brother weren't able to join us for our birthday lunch, so we'll have to do it again. No complaints from me!

On to flat tires...
As we were driving away from the Seminary on Tuesday evening, we heard this awful sound coming from the rear of the car. We both knew it had to be a flat tire. We pulled over and sure enough - flat! El Cheap-o tires did it again. We'll have to go quality over quantity next time. So, we have to buy a new tire - I think.

Another day, another dollar...
