lucky ducks

The past weekend was nice and relaxing. Saturday we slept late, which is always nice, and we worked on a little bit of homework-ugh-necessary evil! Then, we decided to head to the driving range for a little golf. It was supposed to storm all day on Saturday, but the rain cleared out by early afternoon, so it was great golfing weather. After our driving range fun, we decided to drive around Lake Benbrook. It was really low, but I bet it's nice when it's higher. Here's a pic.

Sunday led us to another church to 'try-out.' We've been looking for a church home for a while now, but I believe we're going to find one soon. The church we visited on Sunday reminded us a lot of FBC Coushatta, which is always a good thing. After church we decided to head to Arlington and take in the last home game of the season for the Rangers. While we were standing in line waiting for our tickets, this nice guy asked if there were any groups of just two. Well, I spoke up real quick and he just gave us two tickets. Lo and behold if those tickets weren't for section 37, row 7!!! We were sitting so close - for FREE!!! It was a awesome way to end the season. Here's a picture from the game.

Well, the weekend was definitely too short - always is!

all about saving a buck, or two, or three

So, I'm addicted to this blogging thing. I really enjoy it although I don't know if people are actually looking at it or not. Who knows! So - how cool is this - an anonymous donor gave all of the secretaries in my building money to go buy work clothes. Can I say - Woo Hoo!!! If you don't know, here at the Seminary we have to wear skirts every day (except Friday). Yep, that's right - I wear a skirt every day! Well, when we came over here, I think I maybe had two skirts in my wardrobe. I had to go buy quite a few so people wouldn't call me Josie Grosie for wearing the same clothes every day. Well, skirts don't grow on trees - or at least in this part of Texas they don't - so I had to spend money buying the suckers. Well, this anonymous person has given us money to help buy clothes! I'm shocked, impressed, humbled, and so very thankful! God is good...all the time! All the time...God is good!

Well, if you're reading this and you know anything about me, you know I really like to save a buck when purchasing anything. So, I thought I'd pass on my money saving websites that are oh-so-cool. These websites offer one deal a day at an incredibly low price. It's great, you should check it out...

And as always, I like posting pictures, so here's a new one. Maybe I'll have some more next week - we might go to the Botanic Gardens this weekend! =)

As long as we've got each other...

The title of this blog sounds so mushy and gushy, but it's not about love at all.
It's about Growing Pains!Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
That's right - Growing Pains - the ever popular show with Kirk Cameron as Mike Seaver. Well, today in chapel, Kirk Cameron shared his testimony and the message that God has placed on his heart when he accepted Christ at age 17. Kirk is with a group called, The Way of the Master. I've placed a link to their website at the bottom of this blog. Anyways, Kirk spoke to us today about sharing the Gospel to people all over the world the way Jesus did. He spoke from his heart and you could tell. I was expecting some very eloquent speaker who used lots of theological terms that most of us do not understand. But, this was not the case. He was so real - nothing to make it pretty - he just told us how evangelism should happen and that people aren't taking their jobs as Christians seriously. People are dying and going to hell - we need to do something about it! It was an incredible message that I thought would never come out of Hollywood. Praise the Lord for people like Kirk Cameron.

Anyways - As long as we've got each other. We've got the world spinning 'round in our hands, baby rain or shine - all the time. We've got each other, sharing the laughter and love.
